Using the app
Does it need the internet?
No. The whole course, audio included, is inside the app. It works on a plane, on the metro, anywhere.
Which Spanish does it teach?
Castilian Spanish, as it's spoken in Spain. You learn vosotros from the start, and when to use tú or usted.
Who are the voices?
The audio is natural-sounding text-to-speech in Spain Spanish, made with Google Chirp 3 HD. You can slow any sentence down to 0.75×.
How do I turn the reminder on or off?
In the app, open Settings and use Daily reminder. You can also pick the time there. If notifications are blocked, turn them on in your phone's settings.
Can I turn the sound effects off?
Yes: Settings › Sound effects. The Spanish audio still plays when you tap the speaker.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Ogma Spanish is on Android now, and iPhone and iPad are planned for later.
Your progress
Where is my progress saved?
Only on your phone. There's no account and no server.
Can I move my progress to a new phone?
Yes, if your phone's backup is on. Android's own backup can copy your progress to your Google account, and you can restore it on the new phone. We never see it. More in the privacy policy.
How do I start over?
Settings › Reset progress. This deletes your streak, XP, completed lessons and review schedule on this phone. Your settings are kept. It can't be undone.
How do I delete everything?
Uninstall the app. That removes all its data from your phone.
The course
What level is it?
CEFR level A1, for complete beginners: 27 chapters, more than 100 lessons and 27 short stories.
I already know some Spanish. Do I have to start at the beginning?
No. Take the “Find my level” test when you start, or test out of a section later.

Does it work with TalkBack and large text?
Yes. It also has dark mode and follows your “Remove animations” setting. If something is hard to use, please tell us.

What data do you collect?
None. No account, no ads, no analytics. The app doesn't connect to the internet. Read the full privacy policy.
